Profile Information: For creators — bio, social media handles, follower counts, location, category, and portfolio items. For brands — company name, website, industry, and contact details.
Communications: Messages sent through our platform between brands and creators.
Payment Information: Billing details for brand subscriptions and campaign payments. We do not store full card numbers.
Uploaded Files: Profile photos, portfolio images, and documents you upload.
Social Media Data: If you connect your Instagram or Meta account, we access publicly available data such as follower count, engagement rate, and media.

We also automatically collect certain technical data when you use our platform, such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and device information.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Create and manage your account
Display your creator or brand profile to relevant parties
Facilitate communication between brands and creators
Process payments and issue invoices
Review and verify creator profiles before listing
Send you platform updates, notifications, and support messages
Improve our platform and develop new features
Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
Comply with legal obligations

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information with:

Other Users: Creator profiles are visible to registered brands. Brands can see your name, category, location, follower count, and social handles.
Service Providers: Third-party vendors who help us operate our platform (e.g., hosting, payment processing, email delivery).
Meta / Instagram API: When you connect your Instagram account, relevant data is exchanged with Meta's APIs as required for the connection.
Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.

10. Meta / Facebook Permissions We Access

When you connect a Facebook or Instagram account to BuzzInsect (as a Creator signing up, or as an Admin connecting the brand discovery account), we request the following Meta permissions and use them solely as described below:

Permission	How We Use It
instagram_basic	Read a creator's Instagram profile — username, follower count, bio, and profile picture — when they sign up or connect their account. Used to pre-fill their creator profile on BuzzInsect.
instagram_creator_marketplace_discovery	Used by the BuzzInsect platform administrator to search the Instagram Creator Marketplace for creators by niche, location, and follower count, so they can be imported into the BuzzInsect directory. No individual brand user receives raw Instagram data from this permission.
pages_show_list	Retrieve the list of Facebook Pages managed by the connecting account in order to identify the Page linked to an Instagram Business account. Required by the Instagram Business API authentication flow.
business_management	Access the Business Manager account associated with the connecting Facebook account to retrieve the Instagram Business account linked to the business. Used only during the initial connection flow.
instagram_business_basic	Read the creator's own Instagram Business/Creator account basic data — username, account type, media count, follower count, and profile picture — when the creator self-logs in through Meta to verify ownership of their account. Used to confirm the connected account belongs to the creator and to keep their BuzzInsect profile up to date.
instagram_business_manage_insights	Read aggregate account-level and media-level insights (reach, impressions, engagement, profile views, saves, video views) for the creator's own Instagram Business/Creator account after they self-log in via Meta. Used to display verified performance metrics on the creator's BuzzInsect profile so brands can evaluate them. We never access insights for accounts the creator does not own.

We do not publish content, send messages, or take any action on your Facebook or Instagram account. We only read the data described above. You can disconnect at any time from your profile settings and we will delete your stored tokens within 30 days.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
